Nursery Retailer Magazine recently named sky Nursery, in the Pacific Northwest, of the top 100 Lawn and Garden retailers in the nation. They started to look for a point-of-sale system in 1999 to replace their old electronic cash register that had become unreliable and would not carry them through another busy spring and summer season. Working with West Coast Retail Systems of Bellevue, Washington, they chose a system consisting of seven POSIFLEX PST-6000 terminals, five back-office computer workstations, and CounterPoint business software from Synchronics, all running off a Windows NT server with Windows 95 workstations. The PST-6000 is a Pentium-based, compact, integrated POS system that keeps abreast of the fast changing, high technology industry trends.

Circle K Taiwan is a convenience store chain with over 450 outlets throughout the country open 24 hours a day. They were faced with aging equipment and eminent danger from the Y2K bug so management decided to replace all of their ECRs and POS terminals with the latest state-of-the-art equipment. Their replacement search encompassed a number of world-renown brands and models. After much testing and comparison, the POSIFLEX PST-1010 with hard drive was selected for their superior quality and design. All stores will have two PST-1010 terminals. A total of 1500 terminals were installed at Circle K Taiwan. "This is one of the largest installations in Taiwan," said Owen Chen, CEO of POSIFLEX. Choi's Business Systems of Garden Grove, California, has been in business for over 17 years selling ECRs and security cameras. They have over 2000 installations during this time. In selling a 7-lane scanning system with scale interface to A.R. Supermarket, Choi's enlisted the help of NSA Distribution of Cerritos, California, for procuring the equipment and used ECR software to run the store. The equipment was completely bench-tested before installation by NSA and they assisted Choi's with the system set-up, training, polling, and made sure that everything was working properly after the installation.

Econo Nunez, an 8-lane grocery store in Puerto Rico, decided to replace their old system with a complete solution to control inventory and speed customer check-outs. They needed very reliable hardware and software, plus an excellent service and maintenance company to handle the installation, training and support for their scanning store. Dorta Cash Register Service provided the installation expertise and selected the POSIFLEX PST-6000 terminal and Express Lane software from DynaTech. This proved to be a great combination. "This scanning installation allows us to ring up our customers 2 to 3 times faster than our old system and get up to the minute, accurate inventory information so we will never be out of anything," said owner Papo Nunez.
